This project is a study of the boundary between man and machine. I’m studying the intersection of organic and inorganic creation, life, and inteligence. Forms of artificial intelligence are increasing in complexity, but yet there big questions as to if we can really call this form of computing a true intelligence. Preprogrammed operation is a robot following commands. Real intelligence requires the ability to synthesis meaning out of new information. As our species continues to dig deeper into these mysteries, many important ethical questions arise. A large part of this project is a reminder that just because we can do something, it doesn’t mean that we should do it… As we attempt to humanize the machine, we can learn important lessons about ourselves as a species. What does is mean to be human and what does it mean to be a machine? I’m concerned that a growing amount of humans are operating more as machines, than organic individuals. Take another look at who wrote the algorithm for your current operating system and set yourself free from any implanted programs.
